Filling
Heat the following in saucepan until thickened, stirring constantly:
10 T flour (1/2 cup + 2 T)
2 cup milk
Cool that mixture completely, stirring occasionally. Set aside
Cream together:
2 cup butter
2 cup sugar
4 tsp vanilla
Beat the cooled flour mixture and butter mixture together with electric beater.
Pies
Cream together:
1/2 cup Crisco
1 1/2 cup sugar
Add:
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Beat till fluffy
Sift together:
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 3/4 cup flour
Beat dry ingredients into batter. (alternatively with sour milk: place 1/2 T vinegar in 1/2 cup, fill rest of 1/2 cup with sour milk)
Set this aside.
Mix to make a paste:
1/2 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
1/2 cup hot water
Mix this paste into the batter
Drop by tablesppons onto lightly greased cookie sheet
Bake 350 for 10 mins
Fill pies with filling. Individually saran wrap and refrigerate
